PTSA 7th Grade Carnival

The first annual 7th Grade Carnival is on Friday, May 31, 2024. Doors open at 6:30pm and the event ends promptly at 8:00pm.  The Carnival is open to 7th Grade Tyee students only.   There will be inflatables, games, snacks, and FUN! Students should wear comfortable athletic-type clothing.  Free snacks and drinks will be provided.  Do not bring backpacks or money (there is nothing for sale). 

The Carnival is FREE (thanks PTSA!) but pre-registration is REQUIRED.  Registration and Parent Permission form must be completed online by Thursday, May 30, 2023. https://tyeeptsa.org/Packet/7thGradeCarnival/
Adherence to BSD Student Code of Conduct is required for all Student Social Events. 

PTSA membership is not required to participate or volunteer for the Carnival but highly encouraged to support the Tyee PTSA community. Join/Renew Your PTSA Membership

Join Us for Staff and Teacher Appreciation Week: May 6-10

Let's come together to celebrate one of the most significant events of the year - Teacher Appreciation Week! This is our opportunity to show our gratitude to the incredible teachers and staff at Tyee.

Below, you'll find a detailed plan for the entire week's arrangements. You can contribute by donating food items, which will be listed in two separate Sign Up Genius worksheets. One is for Monday, May 6th through Thursday, May 9th, and the other is for Friday, which will be circulated separately. 

  • Monday May 6-  A little caffeine to express our THANKS
  • Tuesday May 7- A crunch "Thanks-a-Munch" snacks for our amazing teachers and staff
  • Wednesday May 8 - We donut know what we'd do without you
  • Thursday May 9 - Thank you for making learning so Fresh by serving salad & fruit bar
  • Friday May 10 - Duty-free luncheon for our teacher and staff to take a break and enjoy their moment. Link for sign-up will be circulated seperated.

Staff Appreciation Week Thank-you Notes from Students

Join us in celebrating Staff and Teacher Appreciation Week, taking place from May 6 to May 10! We invite you to encourage your student to show their appreciation for the dedicated teachers and staff members at Tyee. From our hardworking counseling staff to our tireless teachers across all subjects, each plays a crucial role in keeping our students happy, safe, and learning every day.

Here's how your student can participate:

During the week of May 6 to 10, your student can bring a sticky note or visit the commons during lunch to write a note of gratitude on a large piece of paper dedicated to their teachers. The schedule for notes is as follows:

  • Monday May 6: Math, Science (one note for each - 2 in total)
  • Tuesday May 7: English, Social Studies (one note for each - 2 in total)
  • Wednesday May 8: Foreign Language, PE, Office Staff, Counselors (2-4 notes depending on schedule)
  • Thursday May 9: Music and Performing Arts/Arts, CTE, and other electives (1-2 notes depending on schedule)

For example, on Monday, your student can bring two sticky notes (one for their math teacher and one for their science teacher) to express gratitude. Please encourage your student to participate every day. Thank you for joining us in appreciating our exceptional staff and teachers!

Tyee PTSA Beach Party 

The Beach Party dance is on Friday, May 10th, 2024. Doors open at 6:45pm, event is from 7:00pm - 9:00pm in the Gym. Open to Tyee students only.  Please enter and exit from the rear gymnasium entrance by the back parking lot.  Casual attire encouraged.  Suggested theme attire: tropical shirts, board shorts, tank tops, straw hats, grass skirts over shorts, etc. No swimsuits or anything that can fall down such as tube tops.  We'll be handing out leis and free snacks.  We will also have a photo booth and friendship bracelet station as well.  Do not bring backpacks or money (there is nothing for sale).

We are excited to welcome the Newport Cover & Choreography Club for a dance performance and student instruction!

Registration and Parent Permission is required to attend this event, which is done online by Thursday,  May 9, 2024. Adherence to BSD Student Code of Conduct is required for all Student Social Events.
